I am a minimalist in beauty and skin care; I have very sensitive skin and have been dealing with some redness and irritation in the past few months, so any new products I try must be very deliberate. My usual morning routine is cleanser, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. I think I have tried many different sunscreens and have some requirements: it should not be too matte, because I like my skin to look hydrated and shiny. It can't pill, which happens often, and it can't be too thick, it feels like a film on the skin. I have some products that I like, but my new favorite product is Tower 28 SunnyDays SPF 30 tinted sunscreen foundation ($30).

When I first heard about this product, I was very interested, in large part because it is said to be formulated for sensitive skin. It was actually the first skin tone product to receive the seal of approval from the American Eczema Association. As someone who suffers from both eczema and sensitive skin, this is a promising green light. There are 14 shades, if you apply it with your fingers, the coverage of this product is light, but if you choose to use a beauty sponge or brush, the coverage is medium. It also feels like applying essence; its consistency is very thin. In addition, the packaging is not only cute, but also made of 60% recycled plastic. (Every step towards better recycling practices is important.)

All of these are great, but the best part is that the product really works. It does not irritate my skin, which is the number one priority, nor does it cause me to break out or clog my pores. It also provides the most natural light coverage; I apply it with my fingers and it feels like I have filtered my skin. It lasts all day, blends perfectly with my other makeup looks, and is something I really look forward to using every morning. In addition, it is not a product that happens to contain sunscreen, it is a sunscreen, SPF 30 is very suitable for daily use. Think of me as a fan.
